Servicing
Just like your car, your computer needs regular checkups to keep everything running smoothly.- much of which you CAN do yourself although we'd be glad to do it for you
A check up includes things like
- Checking security settings (firewall on, Anti-virus working)
- Checking your updates are going through
- Checking your backups have been running - like they're supposed to
- Clean up unnecessary files, check free space
- Check the hardware - fans all working, clean if necessary (no NOT with a wire brush - compressed air is the best way to go) - a heavy build up of dust will make the computer overheat (see the picture bellow)
- Check for malware
- Give the system a bit of a tweak - defrag your hard drive, remove unwanted programs from your startup, delete unnecessary files, empty your trash - i know it sounds silly but a lot of people don't realize files stay on the computer taking up space after you delete them UNLESS you empty the trash
Hmm - needs a thorough clean

The dust & fluff on the bottom of the case isn't the real issue .. its the contaminants on the cards, in the slots & the build up of fluff on the heat sink that will end up having dire concequences 1 hot afternoon.
